Four members of the WHL's Moose Jaw Warriors have been suspended for the season for violating team and league rules including the WHL Standard of Conduct policy, the WHL announced late last week.

Players Connor Ungar, Max Wanner, Lynden Lakovic and Marek Howell have all been suspended for weeks now following an off-ice incident while on a road trip to play the Edmonton Oil Kings. On Friday, the team and the league announced that the players would sit out the remainder of the season.

In addition, Edmonton police issued a statement to CTV News Edmonton that they had investigated the incident and would not comment any further as it is viewed as "non-criminal in nature."

“Though the conduct of the players was not found to be criminal in nature, the conduct was determined to be a violation of team and league rules including the WHL Standard of Conduct policies, as outlined in the WHL Personal Conduct Policy,” a news release from the WHL said.

Warriors head coach Mark O'Leary and GM Jason Ripplinger have also both been suspended five games each for "not providing proper oversight and supervision," the league said.

The WHL has said that for respect of all parties involved, no details of the incident will be provided to the public. And you know what? That's just fine by me. Here we have a case of four teenaged boys who obviously made a big mistake and they're being held accountable for their actions. No need to drag their names through the mud further and have them go through more public humiliation. Good on the WHL for stepping up to address this situation and for respecting all parties involved. I'm all for educating and rehabilitating over outright cancellation.
