Two forwards on the move in 1 for 1 deal on Sunday.
The holiday roster freeze is officially over and it didn't take long for teams in the National Hockey League to take full advantage. Just hours after the freeze was lifted we have our first trade, with the Minnesota Wild and the Tampa Bay Lightning coming together for what is a 1 for 1 trade deal.
According to an official announcement from the Wild, they have acquired veteran forward Boris Katchouk from the Lightning in exchange for Wild forward prospect Michael Milne.
Katchouk is by far the more established player in this deal with the former 2nd round pick (44th overall) at the 2016 NHL Entry Draft having appeared in 179 games over his NHL career with the Lightning, Chicago Blackhawks and Ottawa Senators. Over his NHL career Katchouk has 15 goals and 21 assists for a total of 36 points.
Milne on the other hand has only ever appeared in a single NHL game and that came last season when he suited up for just one game as a member of the Minnesota Wild. Milne is coming off of a 60 game season in the American Hockey League with the Iowa Wild, and he had 15 goals and 11 assists for a total of 26 points.
