Jost has been claimed.

The Minnesota Wild have lost the services of forward Tyson Jost.

According to a report from National Hockey League insider Darren Dreger, the 24 year old former first round pick (10th overall) of the Colorado Avalanche at the 2016 National Hockey League Entry Draft is now officially a member of the Buffalo Sabres.

Jost was waived on Friday by the Wild and there was some speculation that he could very well be claimed, and some may even be surprised to see that he dropped all the way down to the Sabres on the waiver priority list.

The native of St. Albert, Alberta had made 12 appearances for the Wild this season prior to being waived, but only managed to pick up 3 assists over that stretch with no goals to his name. He also picked up 11 penalty minutes and had a plus minus rating of -4, and it seemed like he was struggling to find a good fit with the Wild this season.

Jost is currently in the final year of a 2 year contract he signed in 2021 with the Colorado Avalanche, one that carries an average annual value and salary cap hit of $2 million per season, and the Sabres will now take on his cap hit moving forward.
