Earlier today the Minnesota Wild acquired veteran forward Marcus Johansson from the Washington Capitals in exchange for a 3rd round pick.

Check it out:

The 32 year old Johansson has bounced around the NHL the past few years and, in fact, was with the Wild for 36 games during the 2020-21 season. This season he has 3 goals and 28 points in 60 games with the Capitals and seems to have rejuvenated his career a bit.

And in a second move of the day, it appears that the Wild have acquired veteran forward Gustav Nyquist from the Columbus Blue Jackets, at least according to a report from NHL insider Chris Johnston.

The 33 year old Nyquist is currently on the injured reserve, but he has played 48 games this season putting up 10 goals and 22 points. He's in the final season of a four year contract that pays him $5.5 million annually and is slated to become an unrestricted free agent this upcoming offseason.

UPDATE: It's official, Nyquist is heading to Minnesota in exchange for a 5th round pick.
