So apparently when you don't have a good season, you have to find someone to blame.

That is if your name is Thomas Vanek. Vanek told the Star Tribune that if he wanted goals and points, he would have signed with the Islanders to play with John Tavares and Kyle Okposo. He then went on to say that he wasn't complaining about their centers, he was just explaining why he was less than a shooter last season.

Vanek was signed to boost the Wild's offense but ended up scoring only 21 goals in 80 games. When your cap hit is 6.5M, 21 goals is not enough. At the very least you have to bring it in some other way. It was one of his lowest goal totals in the past seasons and went on to score 0 goals in the playoffs.

He did acknowledge he has to be better, but using your centers as an excuse is just not the way to do it. On top of everything about his gambling problem last season, I think it's time Thomas just focuses on his play. He is a great talent and can definitely provide more than 21 goals. If he can find his stride the Wild will have two dangerous lines this season. Let's just hope he stops talking and finds his scoring touch.
