As the 2025-26 season around the corner, Nylander balances the pressure to solidify Toronto’s top-six with the launch of his new career.
As the Toronto Maple Leafs gear up for the 2025-26 season, William Nylander faces a pressure-filled campaign to solidify and improve the team’s top-six forward group, especially following the departure of Mitch Marner in a sign and trade deal to the Vegas Golden Knights. But off the ice, the star winger is exploring a new arena: social media.
About a week ago, the Leafs asked players what they’d been up to over the summer. Most responses included the usual offseason activities, including golf, weddings, or starting a family. Nylander, however, teased the idea of launching his own YouTube channel.
Now, it looks like he’s made it official. Nylander recently shared his first YouTube Short, highlighting the focus of his channel and giving fans a glimpse of what’s to come.
On the ice, Nylander missed practice earlier on Thursday. Head coach Craig Berube provided an update, but offered little clarity, suggesting it was simply a “maintenance day.”
“Camp kind of stuff, you know, you get a little banged-up, but he’s fine. That’s all it was,” Berube said.
With the regular season approaching, Leafs fans will be watching closely to see if Nylander can balance his hockey responsibilities with his a new “career” alongside his NHL one.
