Wings' prospects shine at WHJC.

Detroit Red Wings' prospects, defenseman Joe Hicketts and goaltender Joren van Pottelberghe distinguished themselves or far a the World Junior Hockey Championships.

The two were facing each other intoday's matchup between Hicketts' Team Canada and van Pottelberghe' Team Switzerland. Switzerland took an early two goal lead. Canada tied the game late in the first period thanks to a perfect Dylan Strome's shot.

Joe Hicketts scored the equalizer on a beautiful wrist shot that beat van Pottelberghe high on the glove side.

Canada escaped with the win with two identical shootout goals. Van Pottelberghe was beat twice by right handed player coming in on a straight line and eking forehand-backhand shelf.

Ironically, both players were named player of the game for their respective country.
