Wings veteran consistently being mentioned in trade rumors.

The Detroit Red Wings are not trending in the right direction and now many, if not most, pundits have them poised to be sellers at the trade deadline.

While the possibility of trading soon-to-be unrestricted free agent Thomas Vanek has been talked about for weeks, the name of another Red Wings veteran is now consistently making it's way into trade rumors, that of defenseman Mike Green.

ESPN's Craig Custance that Green could be dealt despite the fact that having one year remaining on his deal makes him less than ideal as a rental player.

Defenseman Mike Green could be valuable to a contender, too, if teams don't mind the term left on his contract.

Custance's colleague at ESPN, Scott Burnside, believes that it is long past time general manager Ken Holland pulls the trigger on trading Green.

The Green experiment, one that never made a ton of sense, should end as soon as possible, too.

Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman also indicated that he expects there to be heavy chatter around a potential trade involving Green.

"I think [Green]'s definitely going to be a guy who's talked about," said Friedman.

With this much talk focused around a single player and and with the information coming from a variety of sources, it sounds like Mike Green may be playing out his final games as a Red Wing.
