Young fans get random surprise of a lifetime from Jake Walman.
A group of young Oilers fans get the surprise of a lifetime during the Stanley Cup playoffs.
The Stanley Cup playoffs are in full effect with the Stanley Cup Finals just around the corner next week and as you might expect players from both the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers are hard at work preparing for the biggest games of the season. It is perhaps for that reason that a group of young fans was left with their jaws on the floor when they received an entirely random surprise this past week, the surprise of a lifetime one could say.
A user on social media platform X who goes by "Adam" @OilAndCoffee recently took to social media to share a lucky encounter that his children had while shopping for hockey cards at their local Walmart. The group of 3 young children were looking at cards when suddenly they were approached by none other than Oilers defenseman Jake Walman who took time out of his busy day to introduce himself to the young kids.
Walman wasn't done there however, he bought each of the kids a pack of cards to take home and even stopped to take a photo with them, a memory that they will likely cherish for many years to come.
Now as if that wasn't already good enough, the story somehow gets even better. When the kids got home they of course dove into their new card packs and low and behold one of the young lads managed to pull a card of Oilers captain Connor McDavid. Thankfully Adam was kind enough to share a photo of that moment as well, and you can see the look of pure joy on the young man's face.
A day they won't ever forget thanks to a random act of kindness from Walman.
