If the Colorado Avalanche had any hope of making the post season, those hopes have taken a huge blow. Currently 9 points back of Winnipeg the Colorado Avalanche have just announced that their young star, Nathan MacKinnon, will miss the next six to eight weeks with a fractured foot, effectively ending his season. It's been a rough stretch for MacKinnon who also broke his nose during his team's loss to the Minnesota Wild just this past Saturday. MacKinnon injured his foot in late February and x-rays came back negative, but after re-injuring it against the Penguins this week, a second set of x-rays revealed the extent of the damage. MacKinnon had 14 goals, 24 assists for 38 points in 64 games with the Avalanche this season.
