A wild brawl between kids during intermission may lead to big trouble.
What was honestly one of the more hilarious videos I've seen this season is now potentially going to lead to serious disciplinary action for those involved.
Earlier today I covered a viral video that was making it's rounds on social media, a video that features a brawl during a youth hockey game that was played during the intermission of a professional hockey game. That game was an American Hockey League clash between the Hershey Bears and the Cleveland Monsters, and as a result the Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association is now involved.
The Hershey Bears are of course the AHL affiliate team of the Washington Capitals and the Cleveland Monsters are affiliated with the Columbus Blue Jackets, which could also result in the National Hockey League also being involved in some capacity.
The AAHA has released the following statement:
We are aware of a staged fight that occurred at the Hershey Bears (AHL) game involving a Pennsylvania 8U team.
Affiliate, league, and club officials are investigating the matter and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against those players and team officials involved with the staged fight.
This intermission game was not sanctioned by USA Hockey or the Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association.
The accusation that this was a staged altercation rather than something that occurred during the natural course of play does raise some eyebrows and could certainly explain why this matter is being looked into.
You can see video of the incident just below:
This isn't the first time an incident of this nature has occurred during the intermission of a Hershey Bears game, which could also further explain why the matter is being investigated.
Stay tuned for more details on this developing story.
