Zack MacEwen vs. Nick Wolff in the preseason!
The heat gets turned up on Saturday!
The Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers squared off on Sunday and fans in attendance were treated to a physical affair between the two teams, especially once the second period got under way.
It may have been a big hit delivered by Flyers defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen earlier in the second period that created the spark that led to the fireworks later in the period, but either way it was clear that both Nick Wolff and Zack MacEwen were itching for a fight by the time they eventually squared off.
It was actually Bruins veteran forward Nick Foligno that started this particular exchange off when he delivered a hit to the aforementioned MacEwen. When the Flyers forward came to respond however, it would be Bruins defenseman Nick Wolff that would answer the call and respond to Macewen's challenge.
Unfortunately for MacEwen it seems that he bit off a little more than he could chew in Wolff, with the Bruins defenseman controlling almost all of the offense in this particular exchange. It was all that MacEwen could do to hold onto Wolff, eventually dragging both himself and his opponent down to the ice to avoid any further punishment.
