Ruzicka, a former NHL player, is accused of accepting payments of 18,000 and 20,000 euros from a man believed to be Miroslav Palascak in order to keep his son on the team. It's a severe black eye for international hockey, and for the highly decorated former Czech player a coach. Ruzicka won three gold medals for his country, one as a player in 1998, and two as a coach in 2005 and 2010 respectively."I've decided to stand down following a concerted media campaign directed against me since April," he explained in a statement released by his lawyer.
"I've never done anything illegal and I will continue to defend myself, to clear my name," he added
