Dallas Cowboys quarterback Marshawn Kneeland has died suddenly at the age of 24, ESPN reports. He had scored a touchdown just days earlier.
"It is with tremendous sadness that the Dallas Cowboys announce the tragic passing of Marshawn Kneeland this morning. Marshawn was a teammate and a highly valued member of our organization. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Catalina and his family," his team announced.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the passing of Cowboys player Marshawn Kneeland. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Catalina, his family, friends, and teammates. We are in contact with the Cowboys and have offered them our support and counseling resources,” the NFL said in a statement.
Marshawn Kneeland scored a touchdown Monday night against the Arizona Cardinals.
At the time of writing, the Dallas Cowboys have not released any details about the cause of the defensive end's death.
