Details keep emerging on the crash and they’re not good..
It was reported earlier on Friday that golf legend Tiger Woods was involved in a serious rollover car crash in Jupiter Island, Florida.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the incident occurred shortly after 2 p.m., though few details were released so far regarding Woods’ condition or the circumstances surrounding the crash.
However, BeatinTheBookie on X, one of the World’s top resources for sports handicapping information, has reported that Woods “had just been arrested for DUI, he will be booked shortly. A Martin County traffic unit was called out to the scene and made the arrest.”
He added: “Not for alcohol. Hopefully he’s got a prescription for it, but he is being booked.”
Moments later, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office held a news conference (via TMZ Sports) to address the crash and confirmed that DUI investigators were called on the scene and that Woods, the driver, appeared lethargic, but was not under the influence of alcohol. Woods has been charged with driving under the influence, property damage and refusing to submit to a test. Authorities said the impairment was not related to alcohol and that Woods refused to provide a urine sample.
The investigation remains ongoing and he is currently in the jail for at least 8 hours, authorities said.
According to the sheriff’s office, the crash happened when the driver of a truck pulling a trailer slowed to turn into a driveway. The truck driver reported that the Range Rover attempted to overtake the vehicle, swerved to avoid a collision, and clipped the trailer, triggering the rollover. Officials said the Range Rover driver, identified as Woods, crawled out through a window after the crash.
The news immediately sparked concern across the sports world, given Woods’ history with a previous major accident. In 2021, he was involved in a high-speed rollover crash in Southern California that left him with serious leg injuries and required extensive surgery and rehabilitation. That incident raised significant questions about his career and long-term health.
At this time, it is unclear how severe Friday’s crash may be or what impact it could have on Woods moving forward. Woods, who had spent the past several months recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon and another back surgery in October, had not announced a decision on his participation in the 2026 Masters, which begins April 8.
Now it could all be in jeopardy…
