UFC megastar Conor McGregor appears to announce shocking retirement.

This has to be one of the most shocking stories to hit all of pro sports as of late, perhaps the most shocking story of 2016 thus far.

In an unbelievable turn of events Ultimate Fighting Championship mega star Conor McGregor appears to have made the deicision to cut his career short, and step away from the sport of Mixed Martial Arts to pursue other endeavors.

The announcement came via McGregor's social media, and was first made on twitter, and while the brash and controversial McGregor may been pulling a publicity stunt something about this feels very real.

It's important to note, that one of the men who trains with McGregor was recently involved in an MMA fight that resulted in the death of the man he was fighting, and McGregor was in attendance for that event. While this is merely speculative at this point, it may be possible that the death of Portuguese fighter Joao Carvalho may have had a drastic impact on the psyche of McGregor.
