Celebrini gets a rare penalty shot at the Winter Olympic Games on Sunday.
The Canadians have already advanced to the next stage of the Men's Hockey Tournament at the Winter Olympic Games, but Sunday's game against France still had tournament implications with the United States of America hot on their heels for top seed in the tournament.
That seed is likely to be determined by goal differential which unfortunately for France meant that the Canadians had a huge incentive to keep the offensive onslaught going for a full 60 minutes. They did just that and during the second period the unrelenting attack of the Canadians would result in a rare penalty shot being called.
It was 19 year old Canadian phenom Macklin Celebrini who drew the penalty after he was dragged down from behind during a breakaway and, much to the credit of Team Canada head coach Jon Cooper, it would be the youngster himself who would take the penalty shot moments later.
Celebrini has been dynamite in this tournament so far and Sunday was no exception, with Celebrini making good on his penalty shot by undressing the French goaltender and padding his team's lead even further as they attempted to drive up the score.
