The Detroit Red Wings have always been good at causing turnovers and counter attacking. Tonight, they used both skills to their advantage and even at the same time. For the Blackhawks it was a costly turnover festival. The 3 first goals scored by the Wings were directly due to Chicago turnovers. Sometimes you can get away with it, but Detroit made the Hawks pay. The Wings scored 2 quick goals off of turnovers early in the second to take a commanding 3-1 lead and that was all that was needed. The rest of the way Jimmy Howard was solid, as he has been all year and the Wings added an empty net goal to take it 4-1.
