Andong Song became on saturday the first ever Chinese player to get drafted in the NHL. The New York Islanders selected him with the 172nd pick overall in the sixth round. According to Sportsnet, Song moved to Ontario from Beijing at age 10. He was the captain of China at the U-18 division II World Championship. He is currently playing in a prep school in New Jersey. According to eliteprospects.com, Song can play both forward and defenseman. At 6'1'' and 194 lbs, he has the size to play in the NHL.
