When it was announced that Ottawa Senators goaltender Craig anderson would take an undetermined leave of absence last week, many fans feared something terrible had happen, and unfortunately that is the case.

We would later learn that Anderson's absence was caused by the fact that he and his family had just been dealt a terrible blow, learning that his wife Nicholle had been diagnosed with cancer.

Despite that terrible tragedy Anderson would make his return to action on Sunday night for the first time since taking his leave from the team, and in truly storybook fashion the man who had to have been thinking of his wife the entire time was unbeatable.

Anderson stopped every single one of the twenty-nine shots he faced on the evening, leading his team to a 2-0 shutout victory over a red hot Edmonton Oilers squad that is off to a very strong start this season. The big victory was clearly an emotional one for Anderson and his teammates, leading to an incredible post-game moment on the ice.
