Andrew Ference drills Zach Kassian (VIDEO)

Andrew Ference should expect a call from the board of NHL Player Safety after a hit he put on Vancouver Canucks forward Zach Kassian in last night’s game. Kassian skates into the Oilers zone with a full head of steam, and Ference absolutely drills him with a questionable headshot. Kassian was clearly not expecting the hit, and Ference appears to leave his feet to make contact with Kassian’s head. Ference did not see what was wrong with this open ice check:
