Black eye, cut face, and a metal spoon?!?
During Tuesday’s game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Minnesota Wild, tensions boiled over into a full-on fight between Corey Perry and Michael McCarron. After a lengthy scrum and multiple attempts to separate them, the gloves finally dropped, and that’s when things took a turn.
McCarron landed a clean uppercut that left Perry bloodied, forcing the veteran forward to head down the tunnel.
However, Perry remained close to the bench despite the clear damage: a bloody gash on his face and a swelling black eye. But what happened next quickly became one of the night’s most talked-about moments.
Perry casually held a metal spoon under his eye to reduce the swelling, as if nothing had happened. Just another shift, another moment, another battle scar.
It’s the kind of scene that perfectly captures the toughness of the game. Brutal fight, visible damage… and then right back to business.
Only in hockey.
