Blues shock the Jets just 23 seconds into Game 6.

Terrible start for the Jets.

Blues shock the Jets just 23 seconds into Game 6.

The Winnipeg Jets have just gotten a very sobering wake up call.

The Jets and the St. Louis Blues are facing off tonight in Game 6 of their first round series in the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs and is always the case in Game 6 scenarios there is one team facing elimination tonight. That team just so happens to be the Winnipeg Jets although you would not have guessed it in the opening minute of the game's very first period.

Although the Jets looked to initiate the offense early some sloppy play from the team led to a big turnover for the St. Louis Blues and they managed to make the Jets pay. A poor clearing attempt by Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dustin Byfgulien would be stopped by St. Louis Blues forward Brayden Schenn, opening up a shooting lane for Schenn. A battle in front of the net between the aforementioned Byfuglien and St. Louis blues veteran Jaden Schwartz would dislodge Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck and result in an ugly goal for the Blues just 23 seconds in.

This is definitely going to be one the Jets and Hellebuyck want back, but with their season on the line tonight they may not get another chance to make up for it this season.
