One would imagine this is going to cost someone their job.

An incident occurred during Ottawa Senators training camp over the week-end that left the future of two players in serious doubt, albeit for entirely different reasons.

It all began when Senators' prospect Patrick Sieloff delivered a hit along the boards to veteran Clarke MacArthur resulting in MacArthur being laid out on the ice seemingly knocked out from the impact. This is especially significant due to the fact that MacArthur has a history of concussion problems so severe that some have suggested this injury could end his season, and potentially even his NHL career.

Following the hit Senators forward Bobby Ryan went after Sieloff, attacking him immediately even though Sieloff never appeared to want any part of the fight. Unfortunately for Sieloff this is likely going to cost him any opportunity he had of making the roster.

When slowed down the hit itself does not appear to be that brutal, and it does look like Sieloff is attempting to comment to MacArthur's shoulder, he unfortunately picked a poor target, with MacArthur's history of both failing to protect himself, and the head injuries that often come as a result.

Here's the hit.
