This one does not look good.

Colorado Avalanche star forward and former first overall pick in the 2013 National Hockey League Entry Draft Nathan MacKinnon was injured on Friday night when he was struck in the eye by the stick of Anaheim Ducks journeyman center Derek Grant.

MacKinnon went down in a heap on the ice and was clutching at his eye in while in obvious pain, and eventually had to be helped off the ice by his teammates and the trainer.

No word yet on the severity of the damage to his eye but we will keep you up to date.
