We hope he's going to be ok but the optics of this do not look good at all.

Former first round pick in the National Hockey League Draft, Wojtek Wolski, has suffered a horrifying injury after crashing head first into the boards during a game in the Kontinental Hockey League.

It was apparent immediately that the injury was a serious one with Wolski lying motionless on the ice for several chilling moments before attempting to get up and being completely unable to do so both under his own power and with the help of teammates.

A stretcher was eventually brought out and Wolski was rushed off the ice.

More to come.
