This is one of the more brutal slashes we've seen in quite some time.

On Thursday night Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Radko Gudas delivered a huge chopping slash to the back of the head and neck of Winnipeg Jets center Mathieu Perreault and got himself ejected from the game in the process.

The motion from Gudas resembled the swing of a headman's axe as it came down across the neck of Perrault who somehow was not injured on the play. although it did appear as if he was in a good deal of pain.

It seems almost certain that Gudas, a repeat offender in the National Hockey League, will be looking at a suspension following this incident just because of how awful it looks on the replay.
