Bad news for the Leafs.
The Toronto Maple Leafs may be very deep at the forward position, but they can ill-afford an injury on the blue, especially to one of their top defensemen.
On Thursday night with the Maple Leafs facing off against the Edmonton Oilers, veteran defenseman Ron Hainsey sacrificed his body to block a shot on goal, and it appears to have cost him big time.
Not only was Hainsey injured on the play but arguably him being out of the play allowed the Edmonton Oilers to take advantage, resulting in a goal for captain Connor McDavid.
Hainsey would leave the ice and head to the locker room after the goal, and he has not been seen since.

Update: Hainsey has returned for the third period.
