Cameras catch heated exchange between Matvei Michkov and Rick Tocchet.

On Saturday afternoon the Philadelphia Flyers faced off against the New York Rangers in an entertaining game that proved to be a frustrating affair for the Flyers. The Flyers gave the Rangers all they could handle with a four goal second period but the Rangers would claw their way back into the game in the third period and eventually emerged victorious with a final score of 5-4.

That frustration was plain to see on the face of Flyers star forward Matvei Michkov during the game's second period when cameras spotted the young forward in a heated exchange with head coach Rick Tocchet. Although Tocchet himself appeared to remain the picture of cool, calm and collected during the exchange, Michkov was very animated as he expressed his displeasure with one decision or another.

Unfortunately we only get the visual of their conversation and are left to speculate about what words the two men may have exchanged. The friction that has arose at times between Michkov and Tocchet has already been well documented, but I wouldn't rush to judgement and necessarily assume that was the case here. Although it is a possibility, the timing could also suggest that Michkov was hungry to get on the ice after having just drawn a penalty for the Flyers, putting them on the power play.
