The Boston Bruins had a very special guest on Saturday night.

As part of what was being viewed by many as their St. Patrick's Day game the Bruins invited Ultimate Fighting Championship mega star Conor McGregor to the game. McGregor was on hand prior to the start of the contest and could be seen pumping up the crowd while wielding hockey sticks like a pair of weapons, all of this prior to heading out onto the ice for the ceremonial puck drop.

At least that is what we got to see during the broadcast of the game on Saturday night, but what we did not get to see was that behind the scenes McGregor was also quite busy as well. Although the Bruins themselves did not provide a look inside the locker room prior to the start of the game, I imagine that McGregor has his own media team as part of his entourage and he was able to share a video of what he did backstage via his Instagram.

In the video McGregor can be seen getting the Bruins pumped up ahead of a very big game against another playoff team in the Columbus Blue Jackets via a motivational speech to the players. McGregor leads the Bruins roster on in a chant of "Boston Strong" before sharing a few words generally focused on the topic of unity, brotherhood and teamwork.

We also know that this speech also game prior to the ceremonial puck drop as McGregor can be seen asking who the organizations captain is, before giving captain Zdeno Chara instructions for the puck drop. McGregor, clearly a very competitive individual, tells Chara to make sure that he claims the puck.
