When Claude Julien said his team needed a near perfect effort to get a big win, he meant it as a compliment, and a well earned one at that. What Julien meant was that he was proud that his injury ravaged Bruins were able to take out the red hot and healthy Montreal Canadiens in a 2-0 performance. Julien Spoke with Comcast Sportnets New England Julien spoke highly of his team's recent efforts:
“I thought, you know, we played hard, we competed, we were smart and we didn’t give them much,” Julien said. “It’s unfortunate but this is where we realize that right now when you play a team that’s healthy and that’s going extremely well, it almost takes a perfect game [to get a win]. “I credit my players for just going out there and competing hard and well, and giving ourselves a chance. The one thing, as you know, we’re not scoring goals easily these days. So we’ve really got to get our noses dirty in front of the net, and throw some pucks in areas where we can jump on those loose pucks.”
The Bruins will need to be near perfect again tonight as they take on the high powered offense of the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins are arguably the best team in the National Hockey League at the moment, so it's sure to be a tough test for the injury riddled Bruins.
