It was the first playoff birth for the Maple Leafs in 9 seasons. The Leafs were up 4-1 with close to ten minutes left in the game against the Bruins. It should have been smooth sailing. And then the Bruins took control. A goal from Nathan Horton inched the Bruins closer, then another by Lucic cut the lead to only one. Moments later, while the Lucic goal was being announced, Patrice Bergeron took a shot from the point that snuck past James Reimer to tie the game with under a minute to play. With all the momentum in their favour, the Bruins entered OT on a furious pace. The pressure turned out to be too much for the Leafs to handle as Bergeron was once again the hero, scoring on a scramble in front of the net. It was the first time since 2001 a team won a playoff game when trailing by three or more goals with under 11 minutes left in regulation, and no team had won after being down by two or more goals with under two minutes left since 1993.
