There may be no hockey player in the world as talented as Connor McDavid, and on Saturday night he once again showed the world why.
McDavid and his Edmonton Oilers were taking on the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday and after roughly a period and a half had been played the Oilers were sitting comfortable with a one goal lead. That lead wasn't comfortable enough for McDavid it would seem however because once the Oilers got themselves a power play opportunity in the second period he turned on the jets and stunned everyone in the arena.
McDavid truly went from one end of the ice to the other, blowing past all 4 Maple Leafs on the ice in the process, to single handedly beat the entire Leafs squad on the ice including the goaltender.
It seemed as though the Leafs were caught off guard by McDavid suddenly turning on the jets as he crossed center ice and by the time they reacted the Oilers captain had already gotten behind them and was alone with the goaltender. Although McDavid was smothered and didn't have a great deal of room to work with, he nonetheless managed to get enough of the puck to beat Maple Leafs goaltender Frederik Andersen.
No doubt an embarrassing moment for the Leafs players out on the ice, but these things will happen when playing against a talent like McDavid.
