Both the Calgary Flames and the Edmonton Oilers will be breathing a sigh of relief after this one.
On Saturday night both teams nearly encountered a disaster during the first Battle of Alberta of the 2020 - 2021 National Hockey League season when Oilers captain Connor McDavid slammed into Flames goaltender Jacob Markstrom.
McDavid had come flying up the ice and made his way around every Flames player on the ice and was looking to make a move on Markstrom when the stick of Flames defenseman Chris Tanev clipped his skate and sent him crashing into Markstrom.
Thankfully it looks like both men are ok.
