A National Hockey League team got quite the surprise on Monday when a dog made it's way onto the ice and began playing with the loose hockey pucks that were laying around just about everywhere.

A video published online shows what appears to be a Labrador on the ice during a practice involving the Ottawa Senators, although the players don't seem to mind as you can clearly hear pucks being fired in the background.

Now there's no need to worry about the dog, he apparently belongs to Ottawa Senators veteran forward Nate Thompson, and considering Thompson has pulled a stunt link this in the past we're ready to believe it's his dog.

The 33-year-old veteran forward may have been tired of chasing down the puck so he brought the dog onto the ice to do it for him.
