A number of injuries to the Tampa Bay Lightning roster resulted in the surprise call up of forward Jonathan Drouin, who had effectively made himself somewhat of an outcast after demanding a trade and refusing to report. It was a chance for Drouin to showcase himself either to prospective teams looking to trade for him, or to the Lightning.

Drouin made the best of his oppurtunity and on Thursday night in a match up against the New Jersey Devils Drouin recorded a goal in his first game back to the line up to give the Lightning a two goal cushion, it would end up the game winning goal.

Tampa Bay had struggled offensively as of late, and with the injuries, as well as Drouin's 9 game scoring streak in the American Hockey League, the risk was one you could easily reationalize despite the differences with Drouin this season. Thankfully for both Drouin and the Lightning the gamble paid off and as a result Tampa Bay has clinched the number two seed in the Atlantic division with a 4-2 win over the Devils.
