Last night Jonathan Bernier let one of his heroes down when he let in a goal that completely shifted the momentum in the building.
Legendary professional athlete Nelson Mandela is liking turning in his grave as we speak after Bernier allowed Oliver Ekman-Larsson's shot from the opposing blue line to go into his net.
If allowing the goal wasn't bad enough, it was the beginning of the end for the Leafs who until that point had maintained a 1-0 lead.
Coyotes goaltender Mike Smith tried to offer words of solace after the game but the last thing you want in a situation like that is pity.
“You feel more sorry for the guy than you do happy,” Smith said after the win. “Every goalie has been there at some point in their lives. It’s not the best feeling in the world. I feel bad for him.”We're just glad Mandela wasn't alive to see this.
