The CBC is reporting that 51 year old Anthony Clowe, father of NHL player and current New Jersey Devil Ryan Clowe, has been arrested in connection with a cocaine trafficking operaiton. From the CBC:

The father of Newfoundland-born NHL player Ryane Clowe is among those charged in the wake of a police investigation targeting “high-level” cocaine trafficking in the St. John’s area.

Anthony Clowe, 51, of Paradise is charged with money laundering and possessing property obtained by crime.

His case was called at Newfoundland and Labrador provincial court in St. John’s on Wednesday morning. Defence lawyer Randy Piercey declined comment on behalf of his client.
As of right now Ryan Clowe is not facing any charges and he is not one of the targets of the law enforcement operation that has been codenamed "Operation Battalion.”  Police are claiming they have seized drugs, at least one gun, over $350,000 dollars in cash and more during the sting. We will keep you posted as the story develops.
