He's going to be waking up with a bit of a headache in the morning.

There were a couple of games on the schedule in the Kontinental Hockey League on Saturday night but a brutal fight in one of them has made that game stand out above all the rest. The incident occurred during a match up between Barys Astana and Omsk Avangard and the battle was fought between Kirill Petrov of Omsk Avangard and Pavel Akoljzin of Barys Astana.

Unfortunately for Petrov things would not turn out well for him at all and this likely is now one decision he deeply regrets. It was Akoljzin who was clearly the agressor in this one even throwing a jab at Petrov's face before either man had dropped the gloves but make no mistake about it Petrov was very much willing to engage in this fight and even seemed to be almost chasing Aklojzin at one point in his attempts to get a piece of him.

Petrov threw the first significant punch of the fight and it looked like it might have had Akoljzin on his heels but the latter may have merely been baiting Petrov in. The next punch of the fight came from Akoljzin and it was the last punch of the fight as it completely turned out Petrov's lights, leaving him on queer street as he fumbled his way around on the ice. To his credit Petrov tried to regain his feet but it was obvious that he was completely out of it.
