Raymond Bourque, considered one of the greatest NHL defensemen ever in NHL History was born on December 28, 1960 in Montreal, Quebec. Ray began his hockey career with Sorel in 1976, he was later drafted 8th overall in 1979 by the Boston Bruins.
Bourque went on to play 21 and a half seasons with Boston, leading them to 2 Stanley Cup finals appearances as well as 10 Norris Trophy nominations. Realizing he wanted to win a Stanley Cup, he requested a trade and was dealt to Colorado for 3 players. The following season, Bourque accomplished his one goal, as he was a member of the 2000-01 Colorado Avalanche.
