Many had their doubts about 33 year old goaltender Rob Zeep, but he made the best of his NHL debut. After the Flyers let Zepp down early on in the game, they were out shot 26-13 through three periods, they rallied behind Zepp who was playing some great hockey to keep them in the game. Zepp made a monster save on the Jets Mark Scheifele in the dying seconds of the second period to keep his team within two, and it appeared that the Flyers used the momentum to come out inspired in the third period. The rally led them to a 4-3 win over the Jets, and made Zepp the oldest goalie to win his NHL debut since 1926, and the oldest goalie to do so in the Flyers franchise history.
