Following latest juicy contract in MLB, insider reports how much Crosby would make under the same conditions!

This is insane - do you think NHL players should get as much?

Make it rain.

On Tuesday, it was announced that the Los Angeles Angels of the MLB are finalizing a 12-year, $430 million contract extension for star outfielder Mike Trout.

This isn’t the only major lucrative signing taking place in baseball in the past few weeks. Nolan Arenado received $260 million from the Colorado Rockies, Manny Machado agreed to a $300 million-deal with the San Diego Padres and  Bryce Harper briefly made history when he signed his 13-year, $330 million pact with the Philadelphia Phillies.

Cha ching.

Trout has just trumped all of that. Now, Pittsburgh Penguins insider Rob Rossi of The Athletic has pointed out how much Pens captain Sidney Crosby would make a year if the NHL was just like the MLB.

And it is insane.

“Imagine what Sidney Crosby could have made if NHL was like MLB. He is easily worth $100 million a year to Penguins if you combine off-ice to on-ice value,” Rossi posted on social media.

While we can appreciate the comparison, we know that there is parity in the NHL.

And on top of that, some fans still have the balls to complain about how much hockey players are making when it is easy to tell that MLB players get way more than what they do in the NHL.

Still, a very interesting comment from Rossi.
