What a beat down.

Sunday marked yet another low point in the disappointing career of once promising National Hockey League prospect Jared Tinordi and this time it came in embarrassing fashion at the hands of a much smaller man.

Tinordi, a former Montreal Canadiens 1st round draft choice in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft who has just been named the newest captain of the American Hockey League's Milwaukee Admirals, was taking on the Chicago Wolves on Sunday when he decided to stick up for one of his teammates. It's something that Tinordi has shown a willingness to do time and time again in spite of the fact that it often ends very badly for him and Sunday was no exception for the former Canadiens prospect.

Tinordi took exception to a huge hit from 25 year old Chicago Wolves winger Alex Gallant, a thunderous check that was delivered to 22 year old Admirals defenseman Alexandre Carrier, and he immediately went to challenge Gallant following the hit. This was a bad decision on two fronts, the first being that this appeared to be a perfectly legal and perfectly clean body check from Gallant, the second being the absolute thrashing that would follow Tinordi's challenge.

Besides being the much smaller man, Gallant looked like a child next to Tinordi, Gallant showed absolutely no fear when challenged by the much larger man and after he was one on one with Tinordi he eagerly dropped his gloves. The undrafted winger unloaded with a flurry of punches to the head of Tinordi and although not all of them landed cleanly, he did land a couple of stiff haymakers that left Tinordi stunned and probably more than a little confused. As the fight wore on Tinordi's punches stopped coming all together meanwhile Gallant began to connect more and more frequently until things began to look like a completely one sided beat down on the part of Gallant.

After a few more stiff shots both men lost their helmets, or were stripped of them by their opponent, and that was right around the time that Tinordi has realized that he had enough of the surprisingly tough Gallant. No question who walked away the winner on this one.
