The Kraken goalie got involved in a confrontation with the Flyers forward, and the sequence quickly went viral:
Things got heated between the Philadelphia Flyers and Seattle Kraken on Tuesday night, so much so that even one of the goalies got involved.
Flyers forward Trevor Zegras found himself at the centre of a scrum after digging for a loose puck between the legs of Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer. Seattle players quickly surrounded Zegras, but Grubauer appeared to get involved, landing a shot on the Philadelphia forward amid the chaos.
The Kraken netminder certainly didn’t seem interested in letting the moment pass quietly.
In a particularly unusual sequence, Grubauer rolled the puck right back to Zegras after making the save, before the confrontation escalated into a full-on scrum. Seeing a goaltender get involved in the middle of the action made for quite a spectacle.
The officials handed out penalties to both players following the incident. Zegras received two minutes for slashing and another two minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct, while Grubauer was assessed a two-minute minor for roughing.
It’s not every night that a goaltender gets caught up in a heated exchange like this, making the sequence a must-watch for hockey fans.
