Hard to imagine what Lupul was thinking. (VIDEO)

There are hits in the NHL that cause injury which you can defend, for example the hit Matt Martin put on Keith Ballard last night. However tonight, despite the Fact that Kyle Quincey of the Detroit Red Wings was not injured, it's really tough to defend the hit Joffrey Lupul put on him. About midway through the second period of the game Lupul attempts to Quincey and the puck down along the boards behind the net. Lupul then proceeds to hit Quincey right between the numbers as he clears the puck sending Quincey face first into the boards.
