Hit from Backes breaks the glass just 26 seconds into the game.
Big hit from Backes to kick off Game 7.
HockeyFeed
Fans of the National Hockey League who tuned in to Game 7 of the first round playoff series between the Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues were in for one hell of a game and it kicked off with a bang.
With less than 30 seconds gone in the contest Blues forward David Backers was already looking to send a message with his physical play, and he succeeded, delivering a big hit to Chicago's Brent Seabrook. The hit was hard enough to break the glass and required a repair crew to come in and fix, furthermore the Seabrook hit at an awkward angle, and appeared to grimace in pain after the fact.
After a relatively brief delay played resumed, and Seabrook seemed no worse for wear, although the glass probably wasn't too happy with him or David Backes.
