Sometimes the craziest of moves are the most effective ones, especially when it comes to goaltending. Red Wings goaltender Jimmy Howard used a pretty wild move of his own to keep a flying puck out of his crease, and potentially out of his net. In the final five minutes of the third period the puck took an odd bounce off the backboards and Howard had to nearly contort himself to keep the puck out of his crease, swatting it away with his blocker in the process. It proved an important part of the game as the score would remain tied 1-1 until Marek Zidlicky scored the overtime winner for Detroit. Here's the video.
