In what appears to have been a complete freak accident two members of the CalgaryFlames collided together in their own zone, and unfortunately it has led to an injury to one of their veteran players.

Flames forward Troy Brouwer attempted to turn back up ice but during his motion to turn the 180 he skated wide and afternearly avoiding a collision with a member of the Columbus Blue Jackets he crashed into Flames veteran Kris Vertseeg.

We don't know what the nature of the injury is, but one look at Versteeg's body language during the replay tells us that it's definitely not good. The Calgary Flames are really having a rough season and they may have just been hit with yet another obstacle.
