Winnipeg Jets forward Patrik Laine is best known for his ability to find the back of the net, but on Tuesday night the Jets sniper showed off his physical play early.
Laine delivered a big time hit to Buffalo Sabres forward Marco Scandella, who incidentally was also trying to punish Laine with the body, and that hit sent Scandella diving seemingly head first into the boards.
While the impact with the boards looked awful, Scandella was able to bounce right back up. Unfortunately for the Sabres however he immediately raced to the bench while clutching his shoulder, a sign that not his head but his arm took the worst of the impact.
If you watch the replay very closely it does appear that Scandella got his arm up in time to protect his head and that may be what has caused the injury to his arm.
No word yet on the severity of the injury.
