Things were relatively quiet for the first half of the game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the New York Islanders, but almost exactly at the halfway mark of the game both teams suddenly explode for 3 goals in just 27 seconds.
It was the Islanders who got on the board first with Brock Nelson opening the scoring in this one, finding the top corner after an uncharacteristic mistake from Andrei Vasilevski.
The Lightning minder however wasted no time at all redeeming himself, on the very next faceoff he was once again given an opportunity to play the puck. This time it was his initial pass that led to a goal for the Lightning, their first of the game courtesy of
The Lightning finished off the insane run of 3 goals in 27 seconds with Ondrej Palat scoring their seconds of the game, although by the look on his face it seemed like he wasn't too sure if this one went in.
